Mother Teresa Women’s University
Distance Education MBA Course Admission
The Mother Teresa Women’s University was started in
1984 and is a public university with its base in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. The
Directorate of Distance Education was started in 1988 four years after the
inception of the university. The university offers a host of under graduate and
post graduate programs in the distance mode. These courses are however
available only to women. There are three colleges that are affiliated with the
university with campuses in Kodaikanal, Dindigul and Nilakottai. The university
aspires to empower women across India with education. Courses offered are in
the fields of Business Administration, Management, IT and Home Sciences. The
university endeavors to bring the facility of education to women who may not be
able to spare the time for a full time course of study.
Eligibility:
The eligibility criterion for all under graduate
programs is the completion of XII in any discipline. The post graduate programs
require requisite degrees or post graduate diplomas. M.A and M.phil courses are
offered in a variety of fields such as Economics, Computer Science, Sociology
and Women’s Studies. These require the completion of a graduation in any
discipline. The three year MCA course requires requisite BCA or BSc degrees.
Under Graduate Programs Offered:
Under Graduate programs are all offered in three year
courses and require the completion of XII in any discipline. Courses are
offered in History, Sociology, Psychology, Music and English. Successful
candidates will be given B.A degrees.
Post Graduate Diploma Programs:
The university offers PG diploma courses of one year in
the fields of Computer Applications, Gerontological Studies, Human Rights, Mass
Communication and Translation. Successful candidates will be given PG diplomas
from the university.
