Kurukshetra University is established in the year 1956. Late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who was the first president of India, he played an important role in foundation of Kurukshetra University. It is located in kurukshetra well known as land for Baghwadgita. It is in Rajasthan and it is situated nearer to western bank of Brahma sarovar. It is built in 400 acres of land. At the starting stage there was only one department which regards to Sanskrit.
